Northeast long weekend with multiple stops -RI, MR, NH, VT

We are leaving Providence RI next thursday morn. Will stay in Portland Maine one night, one night by Mount Washington in New Hampshire. Taking a quick detour to see Quechee in Vermont to cross that state off the list and then back to Providence Sat night. We plan to tour one of the Newport mansions Sunday morning and then fly out of Providence Sunday afternoon. What can't miss items should we add to this ambitious itinerary?

You do realize each of those drives is about 3 hours, right? So 12 hours driving time in this long weekend itinerary.

I loved Beneath the Breakers mansion tour. A nice change from seeing fancy part of houses.
whoops, looks like you might be leaving Providence this morning. too late!
Quechee is beautiful. Leaves are just beginning to change color here and there and weather is wonderful.
Don't miss in NH would be Discover Squam Lake Cruise which runs on Fridays and weekends. https://www.nhnature.org/programs/ex...uam_cruise.php We went last September to see loons or it was called a nature cruise. They might spend more time on the history of the lake but if they see loons which you probaby would, they would talk about them. We also saw bald eagles. I89 from VT back to NH is actually pretty scenic. It's a great time to stop in an apple orchard. I always recommend Gould Hill which is a short detour of I89 in Hopkinton NH (near Concord NH). They are also making their own hard cider and have tastings. Nice view from their little parking lot. You can either get back on I89 or continue on Rt 103 to Concord and then get on I93S assuming you plan to take Everett Turnpike thru Nashua and connect with I495/I95. If you like to bake, King Arthur Flour is in Norwich almost next door to Quechee.
