North Shore leaf peepers looking for good place for lunch!

Hello and thanks in advance! I live on the South Shore of Boston and will be visiting the North Shore on Sunday for our annual trip to Ipswich for apples and apple cider donuts! Any suggestions for a good lunch stop that will please 3 generations including a picky 9 year old?

I second Periwinkles, it's one of our favorite restaurants - has a nice harbor view, too.

Just saw your post. Not sure that Periwinkles will meet the needs of a 9 yr. old. It is a lovely place but very small and quiet.

There is a restaurant in Gloucester (Rt.133)called The Causeway. I can honestly say it by far has the freshest seafood and the largest portions of food I have ever had. There is also pasta, meat and sandwhiches. The ambiance is kind of loud and busy but very quaint. It is very informal. It is easy to split a meal or I guarantee you you will bring home more than what most restaurants serve as a single portion. It is amazing!!

I have lived on the North Shore for over 20 years and for some strange reason I never ate there until this past summer. It is sort of a " hidden jewel". Anyone I have taken there has been so impressed and become repeat customers.

The Blue Marlin in Essex is very good as well. I highly recommend the dijon encrusted salmon and the raspberry white chocolate truffle! Also on 133, I believe, past Woodmans and all the others on the strip.
