North Shore Kauai post Flood
 

We were starting to make some plans for August 2019. We are meeting family on Oahu and were considering adding a visit to the north shore for 5 days beforehand. We've been to the island before, but only got two (pretty rainy) days in on the north shore. But it occurred to me that the road north of Hanalei may still be closed then, and so we might want to save this plan for another visit.

Does anybody have any current updates on what it's like since this year's flooding? Any more recent predictions for the road opening? I've had trouble finding many details in the news updates.

Lots of good information on this thread from Kauai local, Songdoc. Looks like the road won't be open until mid 2019.

There has been no further news since my last report.
I'm not trusting any of the estimates because they have changed it so many times.
