North Carolina -Asheville
 

Can anyone recommend B&B's or Inns in Asheville that would accomodate families. I am travelling with two teenagers under 16. They love gourmet breakfasts and interesting places to stay. Also any thoughts on taking them to Biltmore or other activities in the area. We are from Southern Florida so they rarely see mountains.

If they rarely see mountains (and are wanting to see some) you might want to hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway and go north to Mt. Mitchell and/or Craggy Gardens.

If they are not into scenic drives, outdoors, or hiking, then the Biltmore Estate might be cool for them - it is impressive and will give you a full day of something to do.

I live here so I never stay at B&B's here, sorry I can't help more with that. The Grove Park Inn is very popular and a very interesting place. It's a little expensive for my budget when I'm traveling but worth checking out. Good luck and happy trails!

The Residences at Biltmore used to be apartments and have been referbished and turned into a very nice suite type hotel, with one, two and three bedrooms. We stayed there last August, the place was great, quiet, beautiful and we loved that it felt more like home. We were able to walk to Biltmore Village and had a great lunch at the Corner Kitchen. The next day we drove to the Biltmore and had dinner a place called Franky Bones which was good as well. We drove downtown on Sunday and what we did see (a lot was closed Sunday until later in the day) was very nice, but the resturants seemed small and crowded.

The Bohemian is the newest place and certainly interesting.

Check out the Crooked Oak B&B. I believe you'd enjoy it. THe breakfast is great, and they have games and movies for the teens. YOu should take them to the Grove Park just to see it... it has huge fireplaces in the lobby, and is just a beautiful place to see. I would also recommend Chimney Rock State Park. There's a cool hike to a waterfall there.

Going through for one night. Where would you stay, just my husband and I?
