Nonantum Resort, Kennebunkport
Anyone familiar with this? Worth staying at?
|
Stayed there 3 years ago. It's in a good spot, close to town, and has what we considered a hot commodity - an outdoor pool for the kids, you aren't swimming in the ocean in Maine.

We chose the older main building which looks like an old New England Clapboard house, it was older, but charming. The "new" section seemed very dated, sort of 70's motel style. I think the older section was more appealing.

There is another, bigger, more expensive resort nearby that looked nicer, but I can't think of the name right now. When I think of it I'll repost.

For the money I would stay at the Nonantum again.

OK the other resort is The Colony. It has a fantastic view of the ocean and is nicer than the Nonantum, but I'm sure priced accordingly.

I stayed at the Colony a few years ago. It's a great place. Huge, wide open hallways, very nicely maintained. Fantastics views, very pretty rooms! IMO it is worth the extra money!

OK, OK---I'll go to Bar Harbor. We will spend a night in Salem, a night in Kennebunkport, then go to Bar Harbor for four days, then spend a night in Portland before catching our flight home.

Oops. Last response was supposed to go to another thread.

Fran, what kind of broom do you ride? Salem is like they all said a R/O.BoothBay Harbor is another waste land.Casino crime may be coming to Maine why not wait for that.
