Hi all,
I go to Las Vegas for work a few times a year, and the large casinos on the strip are still smoky. The least smoky seems to be Mandalay Bay b/c their ceilings are very high. The Mirage is very smoky, as is Caesar's and Bellagio (lower ceilings). The last time I went through the Venetian, they air pumped in a sweet fragrance that was awful, to mask the smoke smell. I didn't visit the Wynn, so can't say how that property is, regarding smoke. The Westin's casino is smoking, because the casino is operated by an outside company. So if you want a smokefree hotel, stay at either the Four Seasons next to The Hotel at Mandalay Bay, or a Marriott (except the Marriott resort in Summerlin b/c that one has a casino that is smoking permitted too). Regarding gambling, if you play poker, most of the poker rooms are voluntarily smokefree. I'd suggest that you inform the casino that you want a smokefree slot room, because customer requests will help to change the situation. Did you read about Atlantic City's casinos going smokefree in the autumn? A few other states have smokefree gambling (I think its slots), so there may be other options for you too. Hope this helps! |
just as an update: the new Trump Tower Las Vegas has opened. It is completely non-smoking, though there is no casino, but it looks like an easy walk to the Wynn.
