non-ride entusiast in Universal Orlando

I don't do rides- any suggestions for Mom at Universal Orlando? It seems silly to pay $60 for admission if I'm not going on half the rides. Could I realistically spend an entire day just wandering the City Walk? We are not staying in the park- renting a house in Kissimee. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

In my opinion, you cannot spend the day walking around City Walk. There are several restaurants and a few shops - certainly not enough to keep you busy all day. We have been to Universal Orlando three times and are going again in a couple of weeks. If you decide to go into a park, I think Universal Studios would be the better choice for you. The thrill rides are at Islands of Adventure. You may find more for you to do at the Studios.

I agree with mikesmom - Universal studios has several "rides" that merely transport you thru rather than "fly" you thru, plus seated audience shows.
Try the Universal studios website for more info!

I found Universal's Island of Adventure very entertaining and I rode very few rides. The way it is built offers you things to look at and do by just walking around without having to stand in line for specific rides. Check out their site for details..

or you could go shopping that day at that great set of upscale outlet stores- Premium Outlets, right on I4. There's definitely enough there to keep you busy a whole day and $60 would stretch pretty far there ((Y))

There is a movie theater in City Walk and you could see many flicks for under $60 (free AC too)
I also thought seriously about going to one of the on-site hotels and reading a book in the AC.
