NOLA WEATHER IN DEC OR NOV!

We were planning on a trip to NO in Oct. but heard it is still humid. What do you think of the months of Nov. or Dec.
Thanks

Who told you October is still humid? It's generally one of the best months of the year!

Dan, don't you think there's still a possibility of humid in Oct. so better to go for Nov. or Dec? Or no?

Sure there's a chance of humidity in October, but typically it starts to get a chill in the evening air. October is a great time in NOLA (but then again I think ANY time is great in the city.......). Also it may be hard to get a room with the number of conventions scheduled for that month.

New Orleans is near the Gulf Coast so it's always humid. Always. You just don't feel it as much if the temperature is pleasant! When it's cold here (30s), it's COLD because of the humidity.

I do think October is among the LESS HUMID months but don't expect "dry."

If you are not from the South, you will be warm in New Orleans any month you visit.

There's something about October that just feels good in New Orleans. I don't know if it's just the start of a new season or what, but I have found that it's my favorite month to visit. I have been several times in December, and to be honest, sometimes it's even more humid and hot then than in October. Also, in November and December there's a greater chance for fog. Many October days are crisp, bright, and clear, if a little warm.

The fall is a good time to visit. It can be warm or cool ..just depends. If it's cool then a big bowl of gumbo will warm you up. The nice thing is that the humidity is bearable in the fall. October & April are usually my favorite months here.
It can get "chilly" in December. I remember back in 1985 when we had the big freeze & it was 8 degrees. We had all the in-laws here for Christmas & since they were from up north they only brought summer type clothes. Seems they didn't listen to us & believed it was warm like S FL. Our pond froze & so did all the pipes. I now refer to their visit as "hell freezing over".
