NO Honeymoon, NOT a family, Need low budget accom. in Kauai/Maui &BI

Could anyone recommend reasonable places to stay in Kauai/Maui/Big Island with nice views? Not particular about hairdryers, room service, etc.

FYI: We'll probably spend most of our time snorkeling, hiking and eating!

Calling all single thirfty couples for advice. THANKS!!!

Stayed at Kona Tiki on BI last year. Right on the ocean, very small older hotel, no TVs, nice people. My husband actually complained the ocean was too loud.

Take a look at the accomodations listings on the Hawaii Convention and Visitor's Bureau website http://www.gohawaii.com

There are a lot of home/apt./condo. rentals with spectacular views and settings which seem very reasonably priced.

On Maui we stayed at the Noelani Condominiums in Kahana, you may also want to look at The Napili Bay Condominiums. The units at Noelani all have excellent ocean views, and the units at Napili Bay are located on a beautiful sandy beach. Kapalua Bay which is excellent for snorkeling is the next cove over from Napili. On Kauai we stayed in Poipu at the Nihi Kai Villas.

Here are some web links:

If you want REAL HELP, you must specify what BUDGET means to you. Is that $75 night or $100 night or what? That's such a subjective term - we can better help you if we know.

We are staying at the Royal Kahana on Maui and the Kauai Coast Resort on Kauai. Both had good prices but are not anything fancy.

in kauai, i stayed at a place called keapana center b & b on the north end of kapa'a. very basic rooms, inexpensive. i think their most expensive room is $75. they also have a really cool yurt that you can also rent. great pastoral views! really enjoyed my stay there and it was really conveniently located on the island. here's their website. have fun!
