No drop off charges at DFW ?

Would like to rent a car at DFW goin to drive down to Florida.
Is there a company who dont take any oneway drop off charges ?

Usually National does not charge drop charges... not sure for a trip to Florida.

You will find that the larger "hub" branches of major chains are going to be the most flexible. So, as long as you are returning to Miami airport, I bet you'll find something.

Unless things have DRASTICALLY changed since I was a travel agent, it will be very hard to find a long distance drop like that for free.
National was the only one, probably still is...
Many car rental companies have zones that they will allow you to travel within without charge. DFW to MIA would cover at least 5 zones...
The easiest way to find out is to call each.
Here are the numbers:
AVIS 800-331-2212
BUDGET 800-527-0707
HERTZ 800-654-3131
NATIONAL 800-328-4300
ADVANTAGE 800-777-5500
ALAMO 800-327-9633
ENTERPRISE 800-325-8007

Oops, sorry I did not realise you are from Sweden. These numbers will not help you much.
Just log into Travelocity.com or any other big travel site and check or if you will give me your flight information I can check directly in the Global distribution system (Sabre).

Dear TxTravelPro,
Will arrive at DFW 1.35pm on sep.22 probably with United Airlines.
And guess that i and my wife are staying at Hampton Inn downtown Dallas.

Best
Mats

You don't mention where or when you will be returning it in FL, so I guessed Oct 20 in MIA.
National is not charging a drop fee. See if you can call 800-468-3334, if not, go to this website and see what rates come up:
http://www.nationalcar.com/index.do?...1&header=1
Or simply try Travelocity.
I think it is too soon to get a great deal, though.

I will return the car on oct 6.
Is it better to return the car at MIA compared to FLL ?

going back to Sweden oct 24.

Grisslehamn Jan 5th, 2006 09:22 PM

TXTravelPro,
I think i will get a better price if i rent two cars ?
First car DFW- Pensacola
Second Pensacola - FLL
?

Well, now you are getting too complicated... one of the reasons I am no longer a travel agent ;)
I think you have a good start on your research. You may be right... If you are going to be spending much time in Florida, you might as well pick up another car (possibly even another rental company) and get any cheaper deals offered.

Yes i think i save about $300.
Thanks a lot for your help !
