No direct flights between BI and Kauai?

We were supposed to go to BI and Maui this August, but I think we are changing to BI and Kauai instead. But, I am not coming up with any direct flights between the 2. Is this the case??

I recently did that combo in May, and I couldn't come up with any good alternative either.

Yes, these are the two islands that are farthest apart and you will have to stopover on Oahu. Even from Maui, most flights make you go back to Oahu before going to BI.

Aloha has some "direct" flights between the two. The plane stops in Honolulu, but you don't change planes (which is defined as "direct"). If you mean "nonstop", the answer is no.

That's right - no nonstop commercial flight between BI and Kauai. All 3 commercial airlines (Hawaiian Air; Aloha Air, and Go! Airlines), fly into Honolulu first.

But if you look closely at the schedules for all 3 airlines, you'll notice that the delay in Honolulu is not the same. All 3 airlines have different on-the-ground delays between them, and even between their own schedules. Some flights gets you into Kauai in less than 2 hours total; other flights will take 6 hours or more! So you need to check carefully for the BI departure time and the Kauai arrival time. Also, all 3 charge $73/up, depending on which flight you take. Aloha

Thanks -- I will make sure to check schedules carefully, and also to see if I can get one where we DON'T have to change planes!
