<BR>Looking for a natural and pretty spot on the coast, with decent amennities(pool, housekeeping) . Fishing, other simple fun. No theme parks. Movie theater ok. Hiking a definite plus. Will travel near and far to find such a place!

Which coast? To paraphrase the immortal words of Dustin Hoffman, America has several of them. <BR>

How about Kauai? <BR>

Not sure which coast you are looking for, but I suggest driving along the coasts of Mass & ME.... cape cod - you can avoid the crowds if you avoid the "in-spots" like Hyannis etc.... <BR>Bar HArbour is pretty - and why not even drive into Canada?

I don't know when the previous poster was last in Hyannis, but it is definitely NOT an in-place. In fact, you should avoid it at all cost. Head for the coast of Maine. <BR>

Check out Chincoteague, Virginia. You can't stay on the beach, you must bike or drive to Assateague National Seashore. Or you can get there by boat, too. We've stayed just about everywhere, from "upscale" B&Bs to cottages, tents, trailers or motels (One of our favorites is the Seashell)Some places come with boats. <BR>The only weekend to really avoid is Pony Penning (if you don't want "crowds"). There's a website you can check out to see if its the type for you. There are a couple of really first rate restaurants.

Blue Hill, Maine---idyllic, good food, quality artwork, close to Acadia Nat'l Park, and no crowds. Tourist attractions: the home of EB White! Lots of B&B's--but don't know about pools.
