No BART near Fisherman's Wharf. Correct?

Did I figure this out correctly from the help I've gotten here and on the BART website? If one wanted to take BART to the airport from a hotel in the Fisherman's Wharf area, how would one do it? Thanks.

Depending on the time of day, you could take a bus or cable car to Market Street where you could catch the BART.

That said, if you have luggage, a taxi might be a better idea.

You can take a bus or a cab to Market Street. There is also an F-Line street car you could take. Don't plan on taking a cable car though. There wont be room for any luggage and if you are trying to go during the middle of the day, there will likely be a long line to get on a cable car.

We've always used one of the airport shuttles from Fisherman's Wharf.

I would use a taxi or airport shuttle service.

Thanks for the confirmation & tips on how to do this.

I'm looking into the same thing myself and just wanted to confirm that the F-Line Street car is a good public transportation option. The website goes on about the history of the cars and the stylized art deco posters, but it's a normal part of the SF commuter options, right? It's not just a tourist ride, I hope! We're coming from Oakland on BART and Market Street's the best stop to catch the F-Line, right?

I can't imagine doing a street car with luggage - assuming you have a suitcase if you are coming to and from the airport?

The F-line runs along the Embarcadero and are designed to look like replica street cars from other cities. They are a very functional part of the regular transportation system and easy to access. As long as you have limited luggage it won't be a problem. It's a block from the Embarcadero BART station (with escalators) to the F-Line.

Yep - If you can manage your luggage on BART, then you wont have any problems on the F-Line.

Actually they are restored original streetcars/trams from around the world.

Julies, unless you only have a carryon bag personally I would not try to take luggage on the F Line or the CableCars, especially during the heavy tourist season. I would either take a taxi to the BART Station or an airport shuttle bus to SFO.
