nighttime monument tours

We will be in DC next weekend for the Marine corps marathon and are interested in the nighttime monument tour on Friday night. Can anyone tell us which one is the best to take. Thanks.

Hi...are you running as well? I took the trolley tour that leaves from Union Station- lots of fun! They let you get out and walk at the stops. It was a highlight of our trip.http://historictours.com/
Also notice that you can buy your ticket and print it out online and save a few dollars. Just make sure you call and make a reservation! Have fun.

thanks for the info. Yes we are running. That is why we are looking at tours, not to do too much walking before the race...

kma- good luck, then! It's a nice course, hope the weather is good. We also took a trip down the Potomac- it wasn't that great. You couldn't hear the guy on the muffled speaker, and lots of foreign tourists were talking loudly as well. But the tour guide on the trolley was a riot, he sure knew his history and it was fun, informative and the sights were spectacular.

We did the Tourmobile tour of the monuments at night.

It was a full 3 1/2 hours. It wasn't just a "drive by" tour; we got out and visited many of the memorials. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining.

I would highly recommend it.

Does anyone know if the nighttime trolley tour include the WWII Memorial now? Will be there in a couple of weeks and also wondering how cold it would be in the evening if the trolley is "open". Thanks!
