Night Paddleboarding (SUP) in Hawaii
 

Hello, I just saw a segment on Trip Flip in which they go nighttime paddle-boarding with glowing paddle boards. I believe they were in Kauai... I am going to the Big Island and was hoping to find a an operator on that island or on Kauai or Maui, but the only one I can find is based out of Oahu. Does anyone know of some options on other islands? It looks like fun!

Glow in the dark paddle boards?
You'd have to be braver than me, to try that. I have seen how lights attract fish, many times, and they have some big fish in Hawaii!
Otherwise, it does sound like fun.

Amen dat kanunu. Why make yourself an even more attractive target to a really big fish?

Lol, I get it--there's some risk involved. That's why I want to find a reputable tour operator that knows where the safe(r) areas are. But the fish that are attracted to the light are the whole point--I want to see them! :)

There is the night time Manta Ray snorkel out of Kona on Big Island. You hold ont to lit up paddle boards,which attracts the plankton, which in turn attracts the Manta Rays.I know it's not what you had in mind but it is amazing.

I've never heard of glow in the dark paddleboards - wonder how they do that.

However, I know people that do night surfing - though they use low tech glowsticks either attached to their board or around their neck, but that's primarily so other surfers don't run them over.
