Nice Restaurants in Scottsdale
I'm looking for more recommendations for dinner...I've already got the following booked:
Mary Elaines T Cooks Wrights Anything else that I should be looking to try? I've got 3 more nights to fill. Thanks. |
Hi Lovinit-
I had dinner last night at a new restaurant in Scottsdale called The Ocean. It's owned by the Mastro company, which runs several other higher-end restaurants in the area. The food was simply fabulous. They specialize in seafood, as the name implies, but my husband had the absolutely BEST steak (something they called the bone-in Kansas City Strip) we ever had. Be prepared... the food is not cheap. In fact, we paid $18 a glass for wine and the entrees were close to $30 each. It's right across from the new Westin at Kierlands. T Cooks at the Royal Palms and Mary Elaines are also excellent choices. You also might want to consider A Different Pointe of View at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs. Although not in Scottsdale (it's at 7th Street, south of Thunderbird) it will be more than worth the short drive from Scottsdale. The Melting Pot (Royal Palms and Tatum) is also worth considering. It's fondue and very fun. |
Palm Court on McCormick Parkway, east of Scottsdale Road......very beautiful room and delicious food and atmosphere.

Not in Scottsdale, but close (40th St. & Indian School Rd) is La Fontanella

Roys
Salt cellar Alcemey (Not sure on spelling) at Cooperwynd resort in Fountain Hills. Good food, great views |
Lovinit,
One of our favorite spots whenever we're in that area is "The Famous Door." Great restaurant built around a great bar and featuring wonderful Italian food in a romantic atmosphere. They also feature live jazz. Check it out: 7419 E Indian Plaza Scottsdale, AZ 85251 Phone: (480) 970-1945 Have fun, Strive |
We loved eating at the grill on the patio at the Biltmore. The food was excellent, the atmosphere, well, the atmosphere is out of this world, the Biltmore is so beautiful, go early so you can walk around - the patio has a 4 sided Fireplace in the center, and the service was outstanding.

You MUST eat at Roaring Fork. I love this place. Great "American West" food.
It's just north of S'dale Fashion Square The green chile stew, mac & cheese, and lambchop fondue are so good. There's a website..just do a search. :)snarla |
The Famous Door has since closed and it's now a "grazing" bar called the Buddha Bar. Not so great. However, try Furio in downtown Scottsdale. Those in the know ask for the "old chicken," which is unbelivable good and it's served with the most outstanding bleu cheese risotto.
Also, I agree with the Roaring Fork. Best Happy Hour in town, and dinner is stupendous as well. |
If you are looking for seafood, I recommend the following:
Salt Cellar 550 N Hayden RD Scottsdale, AZ 85257 480-947-1963 Whenever I am in the Phoenix area for a business trip, I always try to stop by this restaurant. For more info, see the following: http://www.cityspin.com/phoenix/dini...s/e551sal0.htm |
