Nice place to stay in Sedona?
 

Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice place to stay in Sedona. Don't mind if it's pricey, as long as it's worth it. <BR> <BR>Thanks.

We loved the Inn on Oak Creek for location (on the creek), wonderful hospitality and great breakfasts. They have a website--do a search. There are some very glitzy places as well in Sedona but this one just struck us as perfect.

I highly recommend Canyon Villa. We were there a few years ago and the inn itself is gorgeous as are the views. Wouldlove to go there again. The website is www.canyonvilla.com. While we're talking about recommendations, if you're looking for a nice place to eat that's worth it as well, there's L'Auberge. A table with a view of the creek is sublime. BTW, Canyon Villa had delicious breakfasts as well (included)and great hospitality.

L'Auberge has two types of rooms, those in the main hotel (nothing extraordinary) and log cabins alongside the creek. The cabins are quite nice, spacious, fireplaces, etc, bathrooms just Ok though. The restaurant should not be missed. <BR>Enchantment is tucked back in Boynton Canyon and is worth the effort to find it just to have a look at the beautiful surroundings and for a drink, even if you don't stay. If you do stay, rooms are very nice, some with private pools, many quite large. <BR>Los Abrigados is a decent alternative in town. <BR>The luxury B&B's mentioned above are your other considerations.

FYI, regarding Enchantment, you need to make a reservation even if all you want to do is "just have a drink." We learned this the hard way. <BR> <BR>We stayed at the Doubletree for a business meeting and it was a very nice room - a suite actually since all of their rooms are suites. We had a gas fireplace, a magnificent king sized bed and a mini-kitchen plus the chocolate chip cookies you get at check in.

Sandra, we go to Sedona in September for Jazz on the Rocks. We love to stay at the Canyon Portal Inn. Great views. It is immaculate, gas fireplace in rooms, and refreshing swimming pool and spa. Peaceful and quiet. The gals in the office are friendly and very helpful. Next month will be our third year, we reserve the same room each time. Call for info or post card. <BR>(800) 542-8484

We stayed at both Canyon Villa and the Enchantment in October 1996. Canyon Villa was very nice, but I think I prefer to be more in a hotel-type of environment. Enchantment was fabulous, although very expensive. We had 1/2 of a suite arrangement--the kitchen and living room with bath. There was a murphy bed in the living room which the hotel made up each night. A lovely balcony with views. Several small swimming pools scatterd around the grounds and a large one and hot tub near the main building. The food in the main dining room was good, although I preferred several restaurants in town. If money is not an object, I'd stay at Enchantment rather than Canyon Villa.

Sandra, l'Auberge, hands down. But then, I haven't stayed at the other places. In addition to the "cabins" nestled in the woods along the creek(very nice), and the rooms in the main lodge, they also have a number of "motel" type rooms on the hill overlooking the main lodge, cabins. They are large, clean, with a red rock sunrise/sunset vista that will knock your socks off. You don't get those views from down in the creek bottom land, but the ambiance is more woodsy & charming. <BR>All rooms up there have a patio and fireplace. There is a funicular down to the dining room/bar. <BR>We gathered family together from several western states for Thanksgiving last November, and we are still talking about the dinner we had. Absolutley outstanding. They have a web site, and were featured in Sunset magazine last year. Yes, it is pricey, and yes, it is worth it. IMO! (I just learned what IMO means, and this is the first time I got to use it.) :-)

Sandra, a very,very nice little inn on the creek that is called *Oak Creek Terrace--A Resort* is most likely the MOST romantic place in Sedona, and perhaps the world. It is a little pricy, but room/cabin #16 more than makes up for the costs. If you want a place thats a little more Sedona-ish try Poco Diablo Resort. Not quite as expensive, but there is a WONDERFUL restruant to eat at and a cute little golf course. This is a good place to play over the Terrace, which is more romantic. Hope you enjoy your stay wherever it may be. (The other suggestions are wonderful also)... <BR> <BR> <BR>

Our family of four (boys 9 and 7) spent last week at the Enchantment Resort. <BR> <BR>I agree with Ruth's assessment. It's a wonderful place in a fabulous setting. We, too, stayed in a 1,400-square-foot adobe 1/2 suite with full kitchen. We paid $250 a night. We liked being in Boynton Canyon, away from town. <BR> <BR>We loved it and would stay there again without hesitation.
