nice place for lunch in Chicago?

Hi,
I'm heading out to the Notre Dame football game this weekend, flying into O'Hare. We are going to stop in the city for lunch on Friday - does anyone have any good suggestions of fun places, maybe something with a local spin? My only request is no deep dish pizza! :)

Am flexible on cost...and any location relatively easy to get to from the highway would be great.

Thanks!

come in on lake shore drive and go to Navy Pier. Charlies Ale House or any of the other restaurants are good and it's a fun area. and there is parking!

Park in the garage at the new Millenium Park (roughly Randolph and Michigan) and eat at the Park Grill, in the park, and see the sights there.

I second Greektown.

The above are good suggestions or try Taylor St. for good Italian fare-I'd suggest Tuscany for a full sit down meal or Pompeii for more casual dining. It's very accessible from the Kennedy heading toward Indiana.

Greektown and Little Italy are both great suggestions as they are both easily accessible from 94.

I'd recommend Greek Islands in Greektown or Santorini if you like Greek fish dishes. In Little Italy on Taylor I'd recommend Rosebud. I've never tried Tuscany or Francesca's but people seem to enjoy those as well.

Or you could stop in Chinatown for dim sum, I like Won Kow.

Or you could head the other direction and take the Ohio St. exit and go to Cafe Iberico for Spanish tapas, at lunch it is not crowded, or Carson's Ribs.

I agree with Marilyn - check out Millennium Park and eat at Park Grille at 11 N. Michigan. Coming from O'Hare, take 90 east to Chicago, exit I-290 east (also called Congress St.), then left on Michigan Ave. You'll kill two birds with one stone: great food (awesome desserts!) and a stroll through Millennium Park.

If you go to Millennium Park, you might want to try parking on Columbus Drive south of Monroe. (Columbus is one block east of Michigan) There are a few, well-patrolled parking meters there. They usually have empty spots because they are limited to 90 minutes or so, but would be perfect for lunch. Bring about 12 quarters (!); it beats paying the parking lot prices.
