Nice B&B on a sandy beach

Planning a 5-day trip to Maine, looking for a nice B&B with ocean views near a sandy beach. We like what we've read about Camden, Bar Harbour, and Kennebunkport but aren't sure we've found the right place. Some items of interest for our 4-year old daughter would be a plus (though she likes doing adult stuff).

Would like to spend $300/night or less, including breakfast.

Thanks.

The best sandy beaches are south of Portland. Portland has a fun children's museum. I'm not familiar with any specific B&Bs, but try Pine Point in Scarborough, Kennebunk Beach, Wells, Ogunquit and York Chamber of Commerce sites.

Don't know where you are coming from, but by many people's standards, the water in Maine is so cold as to make it unswimmable, so a beachfront location may be less important than it would be further south.

I have heard good things about this place - http://www.candleshopinn.com/ . It is a short walk to kid friendly Short Sands Beach, Animal Kingdom, the Fun-o-rama, a playground and a few shops/places to eat.

Forgot to say - it's in York Beach!
