Niagra Falls Canada

We are planning a 44th aniversary trip to Niagra Falls Canada and would like to know about special places to stay. We have never been there and thought it time we did! Thanks for any info.

I live outside Toronto about an hour from the Falls. The Falls area is very touristy and tacky. The Falls themselves are gorgeous and worth the trip. I don't know of a good place to stay there. However, Niagara-on-the-LAke is a small town just 20 minutes from the Falls. It has the Shaw Festival every summer. Good places that I've stayed there are Queen's Landing and the Pillar and Post. I think both have rooms that have fireplaces and jacuzzi tubs. Keep in mind these places are not cheap. You might want to also visit Toronto which is about 2 hours from the Falls. Lots to see and do.

Our family just got back from Niagara Falls yesterday. We stayed in St. Catharine, Ontario (about 10-12 miles from the Falls). We stayed at the Embassy Suites. It was fantastic! I noticed they have a special deal which could be used for an anniversary celebration including a bottle of champagne and a jacuzzi suite for $249 Canadian. There phone is 1-800-EMBASSY. I highly recommend this location. The cost of your suite includes a made to order breakfast.
The hotel is only five years old, it is immaculately kept, and the people there are very congenial. It is easy to get to from the highway also.
Happy Anniversary! Contact me if you need more info...but I would call them directly for info.

I recently had visitors from Norway and they stayed at Gretna Green, a B&B in Niagara Falls. check out
their page at www.bestins.net/canada/on/gg.html

Our guests raved about this place and said they will recommend it to their Norwegian friends who come over. Good luck.

I live in Burlington, Ontario. (about 45min from Niagara Falls)...and I`ve been there many`a times.
The "main strip" of Niagara Falls is called Cliffton Hill Blvd., there you will see the "most touristy" things going from shops to restaurants.... The most recent highlight is the new Casino (i`ve lost soooo much money, and all my friends wrk there), but anyways, if you want nothing more than a clean, nice hotel close to all the action, i would recommend the Venture Inn. My girlfriend and I have stayed there many times and have enjoyed every stay. E-mail me for more specific details....glad to help !

We stayed (last month) at Kings Inn. It's a short walk to the Canada side of the falls. Very clean and nice but the area is La Vegas tacky. Niagra on the Lake is where we would stay next time. This is the first time we went to Niagra Falls and just had the best time. We are 52 yrs. old. A must is to take every tour requiring a rain coat! (they supply). Behind the Falls, Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds are fabulous. We never really had a GREAT meal but they were OK. (We're kind of picky). We also went to the Henry Ford museum in Detroit and that was fasinating. Congrats & have a great, safe trip.
