Niagara Falls, Canada
Looking for ideas on which hotel for best views of the falls. Is it the Marriott, any suggestions. Planning 30th anniversary there in July. Thanks for any help.
Jack:

I'd say the Sheraton Fallsview.
Brock Plaza Hotel has balconys that look right over the horseshoe falls. Was built in 1920's and got the best location available. They have done renovation. Also great location next to casino.
The Marriott is brand spankin new and very nice. Great view of the Falls. I would consider it the 4star of the area.
What about the Radisson Fallsview? We got a great (we think) package there. With CAD at low rates, and freebies tossed in, works out to about $25 USD per night per room.
Really Jack, you could just show up there and get a good room as there are so many hotels/motels. I think the Brock, which someone mentioned, would be a good bet too as it is very near the Falls.

We stayed at the Marriott, and it would be hard to imagine a better view than we had. Great big floor to ceiling windows. My husband said that he's spoiled now, he knows he'll probably never have as gorgeous a view from another hotel room again.

There is a recent thread on the Canada board that posts a lot of information about the Marriott

You might also consider Niagara-on-the-Lake. You can visit the Falls easily from there and you would have some really nice surroundings. It's much more romantic.
Now that you have an idea where to stay, let me share with you a very exciting thing to do -- the Whirlpool Jetboat! Wear your bathing suit because it's an awfully wet adventure! Be sure to take the boat that doesn't have a cover or quite frankly, it just isn't worth it!
I second the jet boat recommendation; I took one up the Niagara Rapids 4 years ago. It may not be romantic, but it sure is exhilarating! Just bring an underwater camera. You won't be going underwater, but the water will certainly be going over you.
