Niagara Falls

I am actually posted this topic twice: once here on the United States forum and once on the Canada forum. I am thinking of planning a trip at the end of June to Niagara Falls & Toronto. My question is how many days at the minimum should I give myself for spending time at Niagara Falls(both the US & Canada sides) and spending time in Toronto. I have not done research as to what I want to see but am looking for a general time frame. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

At the most 2 days in Niagra Falls. Other than the Falls there isn't much to do, except the casino.

Niagara -- minimum 1 day; ideal 3 days
Toronto -- minimum 2 days; ideal 4-5 days
IMHO

Some people drive through Niagara and spend a few hours looking at the falls, eat lunch, and then drive on. So that would be the absolute minimum, I guess.

For me, 3-4 days in each Niagara Falls and Toronto.

There are so many venues for enjoying the Falls...and there's plenty to do. A drive to the north - Queenston and Niagara-on-the-Lake, as well as south along the parkway, are also very worthwhile.

We stayed at Niagara-on-the-lake in a b&b. It is a neat place to stay. A short drive to the falls. We arrived at the b&b one night - went to the falls for the day and went on to Toronto that night.

A full day at the Falls is enough (that is, 2 nights). Toronto has quite a bit to do and you can easily spend 3/4 days there - as well as at some cute places between the Falls and Toronto.

Can't say about Toronto but we stayed 2 nights and one full day at the falls and that was enough time for us. We arrived about 4 pm, and went to the Horseshoe Falls, then had dinner and went back for night views. Took all the next day and did Maid of the Mist (don't miss it!), Cave of the Winds and enjoyed the park and American Falls, again going back at night after dinner. It's really hard to tear yourself away from the majesty and power of the falls though; it was hard to walk away that last time :)

I've been searching too, as we're going end of May, and there is no clear answer. From "2 hours, and you've seen it" to "I can easily fill a week" - but this one is with Toronto.

We are slow people... planned 2 days on Canadian side, 1 on the US, 1 in NOTL.

On our first trip, I thought a day at the Falls would be plenty. But, after stopping for a quick view on our way to Toronto, we changed our plans.

Thank you everyone for your input. I have another question: Should I stay on the Canadian side or the US Side? Please help. Thanks.

Definitely stay on the Canadian side. The town has quite a few tacky places (video arcades and game rooms for kids) but also has some decent hotels - esp facing right on the falls, as well as a small pretty central park as well as all the walking areas around the falls. The NY side is simply dismal with nothing but uber budget hotels and appears very run down.
