Newport, RI Nature Walks?
Hello,
I'm heading to Newport, RI Sept. 14 and will spend a few days chilling out, visiting the mansions, the cliff walk, Ft. Adams, etc. I have noticed that there are several parks and nature sanctuaries in the area. Does anyone have recommendations for good ones for scenic walks? I love water views and just pretty scenery, bonus would be bird/animal viewing.
Thanks!

Norman Bird Sanctuary for sure. When you get ther ask for a map and hike directly to Hanging Rock for a cool view of Second Beach (assumes you and your party are all relatively fit, there is some very minor climbing involved). But there are also some cool meadow trails, ponds(s), etc.
Cliff walk has already been mentioned, in addtion go out to Brenton POint State Park for great seaside vistas and tide pools.
