Has anyone stayed at the Adele Turner Inn? Any recommendations for a moderately priced Inn/hotel in Newport? (around $200/night) Looking to spend 2 nights with my hubby.

Several years ago, I stayed in the Abigail Stoneman Inn (Tea and Sympathy room) which has the same owners. It was during March and the weather was cold. The amenitites and service were wonderful especially the breakfasts, high tea, water bar, fire place, etc. I don't think I would stay there in the summer because it felt like a very cold weather, cozy inn without enough property to sit outside with privacy. I would want something more 'beachy' for the summer. I hope this doesn't confuse you.

I have had family stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Middletown which is just adjacent to Newport. I looked in late July for 2 nights and they show rates of 199. Of course, you can always get a AAA rate which would be less.

If you have a car, it is a quick drive into Newport...no more than 2-3 miles

Adele Turner Inn is wonderful. Great breakfast, great location "on the Hill", great service. Easy off street parking.
They have an afternoon tea with (at least when we were there) a wine tasting. Great ambiance.
Highly recommend.

When we were in Newport we stayed at the La Farge Perry House.
It was very nice-breakfast was great. We could walk to town and restaurants.

What dates are you looking at? This Summer,Fall? Weekday or Weekend?

We are looking to go this weekend (although we are keeping an eye) on the weather. We decided to stay at the Hyatt Regency (using points). Any great restaurant recommendations for seafood or other favorites?

Bouchard is always great as is the Castle Hill Inn. For lunch, The Mooring works fairly well - nice view, right on the water.

Bouchard and Castle Hill for great dining.

Mooring, Cooke House, Asterisk, 22 Bowens, Zeldas for nice dining.

Brick Alley, Red Parrot for casual pub type food.

Flo's Clam Shack for fried seafood in a Clam Shack atmosphere (just over the Newport line in Middletown, across from the Atlantic Beach Club.)

Our favorite restaurants for seafood is Scales and Shells. Cash only and no reservations.Their best dishes are the mesquite grilled toro tuna and all other mesquite grilled fish. The broiled scallops are a favorite as weel.

For man sized steaks, hubby loves 22 Bowen. Not cheap but a good meal in a nice atmosphere.

For a special meal: Castle Hill Inn...a table at the window. Outstanding food and service.Expensive as well.

Brick Alley is great for a quick meal but it does get noisy and crowded. They have a great salad bar and their meals are a very good value.

Red Parrot service is a bit slow lately. We did not enjoy Flo's as it's really up and down.

Any recommendations for a river cruise and a fun place for nightlife (we are in our late 30's)

The Spiced Pear is a wonderful restaurant, but very expensive.
