Newport R. I /where to eat

Staying at the Newport Harbor Hotel and Marina in Sept.. Any recommendations on places to grab a quick lunch and nice place for dinner in the evening that isn't super expensive, but fun and decent/good food?
Thanks

Brick Alley Pub for either....there's also a nice dockside bar (not sure about the food) right at your hotel that should still have some action in Sept.....expecially on the weekends.

September is a great time in Newport, slightly less crowded, but still lots going on....check on www.gonewport.com for a whole list of restaurants with links to their websites.

Check out Scales and Shells. Good food, good service, and good prices. www.scalesandshells.com.

The Red Parrot has excellent food (not too pricey) and fun atmosphere. Located right on Thames St.

All very good suggestions. Would also recommend the Cooke House or the Black Pearl for lunch.

I second the suggestion of the Red Parrot. They have a very wide range of choices.

It's been three years since we were there. But we liked Flo's Crab Shack for lunch. I believe the name of the place we liked for dinner was Sala's. It was upstairs, I think above a bar. I'd read a recommendation in Frommer's and we were quite happy with it. Casual, good food, inexpensive.
