Newport...how far into the fall?
I am trying to take my wife to Newport before it gets colder and it loses the "autumn" appeal.
Would mid November be pushing it? If not, can someone recommmend some nice B&B in walking distance of the heart of Newport? |
By mid November the trees will be leafless and things might be dreary. You could get beautiful crips days - or cold and rainy - but not likely snow yet.

We just got back today. The leaves are peaking and it is getting cold. I can recommend the LaFarge Perry House B & B. It is a charming place and the innkeeper, Midge, is a gem. she is a chef and the breakfasts reflect her culinary skill.

Rhode Island's tree's are pretty much in or nearing peak foliage seeing time. November is not a good time for this, just too late. Newport can be beautiful at any time of year, just depends on your perspective of what is beautiful.
I find beauty in just about any area I travel to and Newport has lots to offer. You may want to contact the Chamber of Commerce or if you have a travel club such as AARP or AAA and see what they have for info on their site. Travelocity is a good site for getting others opionion's on places they have traveled to and then left what they feel is good and or bad about the listing. Some even have pic's. The Chamber of Commerce is online along with the other listings and should afford you some help in finding what is good for any state you may want to travel. Sorry, I am not familiar with the names of any of the B&B's at all in Newport. I have not ever stayed in any places in Newport, but there are a lot of nice area's and places to visit while in Newport. Best of luck to you and best wishes for a great time on your vacation/trip! |
