any great breakfast places that you can recommend?

I was just in Laguna Beach a couple of weeks ago for the Festival of Arts and friends pointed out The Cottage as being a very popular breakfast place. I think the cottage dates to about 1917.

Yes, the cottage is indeed a great place for breakfast and they do go back a long way. I believe, in fact, that they claim to have invented Ranch dressing (not for breakfast).

Also if you head inland toward Laguna Hills, there is an "Original Pancake House that's quite good.

If you make it a little further north to Huntington Beach, The Sugar Shack has the most fantastic breakfasts. It's a local hangout, so bring your newspaper, you may have to wait if it's on a weekend, but trust me, it will be well worth it!
