Newer DC/NOVA restaurants?
 

Need to get gift certificate to restaurant for birthday. Looking for mid-high end restaurant, newer since I want it to be place they have not been or not thought of. Ethnic OK. They love farm-to-table places, creative chefs, open and lively ambiance rather than dark and stuffy. They live in Alexandria, but DC is fine or even suburban MD
