Newark NJ Airport Hotel
 

We need to stay at Newark Airport for one night for an early morning flight. Does anyone know of an inexpensive motel which provides airport shuttle service? Is the Econolodge at this site decent?

There are at least 10 hotels/motels near the airport and I beleive they all have shuttles. <BR><BR>I think the Econolodge is relatively new. I think all the hotels are relatively close to one another.

They are all basically the same and they have an airport shuttle.

Indeed, there are many motels in the area. However, Econolodge was the only one I could find that was under $90 a night.

One of the cheaper ones is the Howard Johnson's. We stayed there 5 years ago and it was adequate. We stayed there again a month ago and I would no longer call it adequate.<BR><BR>I've heard that the websites that list discounted rates for NYC hotels may also have deals on the ones at Newark Airport.<BR><BR>

As of this posting, if you log onto the www.1010wins.com website (a 24 hour radio news channel) you will see the story of a doctor who was shot and killed in a Newark Airport hotel parking lot in a robbery attempt. <BR><BR>Safety first. Be very careful where you stay around Newark Airport.

....and he was staying at one of the pricier hotels. There are nasty people at all kinds of places and it makes sense to use good judgement everywhere.
