Newark Airport Parking, $ insane!
I've always used the economy lots at Newark airport but now the cost of parking your car long term at Newark Airport "economy" P6 and P7 lots is $15 per day!!!!!!
Trying to find affordable place to park my car for a 10 day trip. Limo service will run me about $185 with tip, round trip.
Any suggestions of "safe" reliable places to park near Newark Airport? Thanks!

We always park at the airport Hilton which has covered parking -- it's $15 a day, and they have free shuttle to/from the airport. I remember returning twice from a trip when it had snowed, and I was thankful to have the garage parking.
This May I'm going for 15 days so I'm going to do the one-way rental car each way. $73 up and $114 back. Expensive, but cheaper than driving my own/park/shuttle, etc.

If $15 per day is to much, what do you consider reasonable?
You can try to park at a train station lot and then take the train to the irport. But those lots have no security - and I wouldn;t be comfortable leaving a car there for several overnights. Even if it isn;t stolen it might be towed as abandonned.

Reply to man, Interesting, do you recall how long you waited for the hilton shuttle and was the ride length more, less, or about the same as the wait time and parking lot transit time for the P6/7 buses

John, We haven't had to wait more than 5-10 minutes max from Hilton to Airport, and they drop you off at your terminal (3-5 minute ride). They may advertise they run every 15-20 minutes, but I've never had to wait that long. Coming back I've had to wait up to 15 minutes max. You have to take the monorail to P4 to catch all the hotel shuttles. I've been doing it for the past 7-8 years.

I used EZ Way parking recently (at the Four Points Hotel). This was $8 per day with an online coupon (http://www.longtermparking.com/COUPONS/cpezwayewr.htm). I would say the whole experience was adequate.

The Hilton is $14, and it's valet/garage. Coming back you give the driver your ticket number, and he radios ahead to have your car ready.
BTW, I don't own any stock in this place -- I've just been very happy with them. Will be using them next weekend.

Yes it is!!
We take the Tpk to exit 13A, pay the toll then follow 1/9 North. You'll see it on the left. (You will see the brewery straight ahead. If you pass it, you've gone too far.) Jughandle onto McClellan St. Once you cross over the bridge, take an immediate left, and you are there.

Thanks all for your responses. What kills me is I only live about 20 minutes from the airport, if I could walk I would, haha! I live fairly close to a train station, so we could take the train, change in Secaucus, then head to Newark Airport, but the only problem is the train near me only runs weekdays, and we are coming back on a Saturday. $150 to park my car in the economy lot just seems like such a waste of money. Thinking about doing the FOUR POINTS Hotel, but still a little worried about the security in the lot. The car rental idea sounds "interesting". Probably ALOT cheaper than limo and parking lot!

You don't say how far you are from the airport or how long you're going to be gone.
My latest thing for more than a one week trip is to rent a car for one day, dropping at the airport and renting another on return to drive home. It ends up being cheaper than parking alone. But then that's in Florida where rental cars are really cheap.
