New Yorkers please help!
I bought a ticket (1) to Hairspray for May 10, and now I can't go! I thought of selling it on ebay but would anyone buy just 1 ticket? What would you do? Btw, I live in Houston and had to reschedule my trip to the end of May.

Nothing to lose on ebay!! I've bought ticket(s) with them. Good luck

Hi MercedesL

I would suggest getting in touch with the box office and see if you can exchange the ticket for a later date. They will do that sometimes. If you explain the problem, they may work with you. If you bought it through a ticket broker, call there as well.

I also agree that Ebay is a great way to sell tickets and Hairspray is the hottest show in town so the ticket will certainly sell.

Good luck.

Yes, ebay for sure. I've had similar situations and have never been stuck! ebay is your best bet. Good Luck!

Mercedes, you might want to try to sell your ticket direct to a broker. Here is one (they charge lots of money for tix so I'm sure you'd get a good price to sell it).
http://www.ticketcity.com/theatre.asp

As others have stated, ebay is also good. You might also try to post a message on Theatermania.com

Good luck

Just a suggestion, and not meant that anyone should advertise here, but if your header said Hairspray Ticket for May 10, someone from here might be interested -- considering how many theatre posts there are.

Thanks for all the responses.

I did try to contact Ticketmaster but they strictly enforced their "no refunds, no exchanges" rule.

Flynn- thanks for the address. I will try to sell it to a broker first, just because I think it would be simpler than ebay.

Patrick- I didn't know if Fodors would allow me to try to sell the ticket on this site. But if anyone is interested, please let me know.
