We are in New york for 4 days Thanksgiving week-end(Canadiann) do you have some suggestions for acctivities, sights and eating?

Well it depends on when you are coming.

If you're here for Thursday am definitely see the parade. Just realize you need to get to the line of march early to get a decent spot to view it from. But the farther uptown you are the less crowded it will be. Also we don;t know your specific interests.

Assuming you haven;t seen a lot of sights before the basics are:

Top of the Rock
Natural History Museum (and PLanetarium)
The Met (go to the website and pick out 3 or 4 departments in advance)
Ellis Island Immigration Museum (go to Park Service web site to get advance ferry tickets and avoid a huge line)
Ride on the free Staten Island ferry (runs 24/7 and has great views across the harbor and of Manhattan skyline on the way back)
Central park & zoo (small) - the real one is in the Bronx and would take a whole day
Intrepid air/space museum with Space Shuttle
Consider skating at Rock Center or one of the other city rinks

For places to eat you need to tell us what cuisine you like/dislike and what your budget is.

Do you mean Canadian Thansgiving, which is next week? If so, of course, the parade suggestion won't apply (but everything else will).

Ah yes - if you mean Canadian Thanksgiving the ice skating may not be possible - as well as the parade.

I refuse to believe a 13 year old boy doesn't have a personality and specific, well-developed interests! Plus, I think his parents probably do too.

What do you find exciting to see? Bridges? Theatrical shows? Science museums?

What kind of activities do you like doing together? Bicycling? Shopping? Boat rides?

What do you like to eat? New York has everything, including a Tim Horton on 38th & 6th.
