You've gotten a lot of good suggestions but if I was going in July and had a whole week I sure wouldn't miss going to a ball game. I would totally skip waiting in line to go to the top of the Statue of Liberty- it's not worth it. Ellis Island deserves that time. You have a chance to see the World Champion MLB team, the Yankees. I would want to see a Mets game too. Even if you are not baseball people, choose one or the other and you will not regret it. Much better than Coney Island, and the trips to the ballparks were super easy on the subway. We had no trouble and much, much easier than getting to a ball park in most other cities. LOVED Lion King but if your kids are sons, they might like Yankee Stadium much more. We stayed right near Columbus Circle by Central Park and it was a very good location. Central Park has a lot to view, including a zoo, so don't overplan and just spend some time walking. You have plenty of time so enjoy!

Jeanette, A baseball game is a wonderfun idea. I live in the home of the Brewers and we go to several games a year. I have a daughter and a son, and my daughter will be the one to love yankee stadium.
