New York Trip with family accommodations etc

Travelling to NYC for week with teens in April, family group of 7. Looking for accommodations suggestions, in Manhattan or travel from Brooklyn/ New Jersey? Planning on day biking around Central Park, nite at theatre, catching a ball game &/or basketball game, MOMA, eating some pizza, bagels, good coffee, movie/tv sites, jazz nite for the adults. Will be there over Easter weekend, any special events happening? It's been difficult finding accommodations while trying to make the most of our Canadian dollar. Itinerary and accommodation suggestions are appreciated. Thanks .

What sort of budget do you have for accommodations?

Like to keep it under 300 USD/nite.

For seven, that's a pretty tall order. You will have to get a minimum of 2 'family' rooms/suites. Check Properties in Long Island City near a subway station.

Check the Sheraton 4 Points or the Holiday Inn in Long Island City. It is a 3 short block walk to 2 different subway stations. It is a bit quiet at night but I felt safe walking from the subway to the hotel by myself at night.

Check the news to see what NY is doing about the major coronovirus outbreak. You might want to change your plans, as most of what you want to do won't be possible these days.

NYC is essentially locked down, along with the rest of the state. Stores, businesses, restaurants (except take out) and attractions are closed. Stay home.

I'm pretty sure they are aware of the current situation -- The OP was started nearly a month ago and a LOT (like everything) has changed in the last 3+ weeks. Ain't nobody vacationing anywhere much -- at least for the foreseeable future.
