HopStop is great, but be sure to check the MTA's website for service changes and delays.
Often there is more than one way to get from point to point, and service issues can be a factor. Finally, sometimes HopStop's route is not the best, regardless of service issues, so you might want to consult a map as well (as with mapquest or other directions sites). Enjoy NYC! |
Thanks for the great info.SusieQQ and Gekko. My husband does a fantastic job moving around NYC. However ,I was concerned about the crowds 11/18-11/23. These sites will be a big help.

Metropolitan Transport Authority (http://www.mta.info/)is another good resource.

Just be aware that even if yo select pedestrian the program gives you only streets open to cars.
For instance for Central Park it only gives you the park transverses used by buses - and ignores all of the pediestrian paths - much more pleasant and efficient. Also - for subway stations with more than one entrance it gives only the entrance matching the name. For instance if you want to get on the Broadway line it tells you the entrance is on 96th St. But there's another entrance between 93/94th - which is much closer if you're coming from, say, 92 st. |
