I am drastically changing our plans. I am thinking rather than being a "Speedy Sam" and trying to see 3 areas in one trip (Finger Lakes, Adirondacks and Berkshires), we should not plan to see the Berkshires and save them for next year. That would give us 16 full days just in New York. The first half in Finger Lakes, second half in Adirondacks. Is that a good idea? How many days should I allow for each area? I have one weekend in Ithaca (9/25 and 26, Sat and Sun) and one weekend in Lake Saranac (10/1,2,3- Thurs,Fri and Sat). Then thinking of Sunday night at Schroon Lake so can see Ft Ticonderoga and surrounding areas, final night near airport in Albany for flight home Tuesday AM. Is that a good plan? I really want to do some fall festivals, tried to stay in areas near those on the weekends.
