New York State, Finger Lakes Region - Icewine
My husband and I discovered Icewine a couple of years ago in Niagara Falls, ON. Any help for specific wineries that carry Icewine would be greatly appreciated.

Here a web site for Niagara-on-the-Lake and the wineries in the area. I'm going up there next month. I've never had Icewine, but I think I am going to try it.

Thanks Budman and LN - Budman I had visited the Niagara Wineries and found that Inniskillin had the BEST IceWine....
I am trying to find wineries in the NY Finger Lake Region that carry IceWine as well. And since you have never had it, it is very sweet and does not taste like wine which is probably why my husband and I love it

Here's your answer!

The NY wine site has award winning wines listed by types - I have had the Casa Larga Icewine and know it is wonderful, and I'm sure the others are as well. I also recently had the GooseWatch Winery White port and found that to be very reminescent of an icewine.
One last place for information is Don Bombace, http://www.bombace.com/html/about_don.html I met him a few weeks ago on a wine tour of Keuka lake, and he does a radio wine show and I'm sure would welcome your question.
Happy sampling! Kristy

I purchased Ice Wine from Wagner Vineyard (on Seneca Lake) last fall that was very good. I've also gotten it from other FL wineries, but I can't recall the names ... hopefully the website cited above will help. Good Ice Wine is a really treat after a nice dinner.

Had dinner last year at Sheldrake Point Vineyards on Cayuga lake, and remember the Ice wine very fondly! The dining area is in a very pretty garden with the lake down the hill, and the vineyards above.

I was recently at the Lilac Festival in Rochester NY. They had a wine tasting event with wineries from all over the region. The Johnson Estate winery definetly had the best ice wines by far. Thier website is www.johnsonwinery.com. I'd also recommend trying their Liebestropfchen a white wine, but very sweet, i think they refered to it as their hotub wine and the Concord which is a red wine that tastes like grape juice.
And while we are on the subject of wine. If there are any eastcoast wine lovers out there you should NOT miss this THE FINGER LAKES WINE FESTIVAL july 18th I believe.
