new york show tickets

For buying 2 tickets to "Wicked" in NYC in early July, is it best to buy online ahead of time, or to buy last minute (rush tx?) there? Price difference?

Wicked is selling out and is not available at discounts - especially in the very busy summer season. You should buy tickets now from the official online seller - if they still have any left. If they are already gone you will need to go to a scalper and pay a premium price - or pick another show. (A search of tocketmaster for a random night in early July showed orchestra seats available at $126 each plus fee.)

If you go to broadwaybox.com it will provide a list of shows that are discounting, and you can take the coupon code provided and go to the official online seller and buy discounted tickets. This will give you a better choice of seats than waiting until you get here and avoid your having to waste time standing in line to buy tickets.

If you can't find regular priced tickets for Wicked on your dates, the sold out section of broadwaybox.com is not a bad option and www.applause-tickets.com also seems to get good Wicked seats. Sometimes premium priced tickets (from official seller) will drop in price to regular price closer to the performance if they don't sell, but that's taking a risk.
