New York Restaurant
 

I will be at Madison Square Garden and was wondering if anyone could recommend a restaurant (preferable Italian, but not necessary) within walking distance? I will be with some picky eaters (no Mexican, Japanese, or Chinese). Thank you!

Not a lot of great restaurants in the area, honestly. Keene's steakhouse is a NY institution. Pretty expensive, but good steak.

I have a recommendation for you but unfortunately can't remember the name of the restaurant. I will ask my husband when he gets home. If you walk down 7th south from Madison Square Gardens, it will be on the right or west side of the street. We stayed at the now Affina last year (it was called something else then) just off 7th at approximately 30th or 31st. They have a very cool bar BTW. There are several restaurants but this one is decorated very well with I believe, chandaliers. Sort of funky. The food was wonderful and a nice choice of different dishes. We were pleastantly surprised with the food and prices. Will post later with the name. Sorry.

The name of the Restaurant is SEVEN. There were a couple of other restaurants in the same area.

its not a restaurant per say, but i work in the area and absolutely love the food. The bread factory is excellent for a lunch if you are in the area. Great stir fry, and surprisingly some of the best alfredo i've had in the city. They also have the best deserts...like i said though, not something you'd go for a nice dinner and sit down though
