New York Play & Restaurant
If you could only see one play in New York this spring and eat at only one restaurant, what would your choices be?
|
Are you plannng these for the same evening? I would never schedule a special dinner (to which you need 2/3 hours to do justice) right before a Broadway show. Never mind the time issues involved (unless you want to eat dinner at 5 in the afternoon) it can be extremely uncmfortable sitting through a long show right ater a big dinner.
As for the one show- Wicked - if you haen;t seen it. The one restaurant - there are so many great places in NYC it's impossible to say without a budget, favorite - or no no cuisines and atmopshere (romantic, traditional, trendy). |
I would eat at either Le Bernadin, per se, WD-50, or Little Owl.
I am a gay man who hates Broadway musicals. Go figure! I'd see a drama instead. |
Well, Marg..then you would adore Gray Gardens..it has music, and drama, and for some, an absolute role model of a title role complete with clothes modeling.
|
I'm from Mississippi but I go to NYC two/three times a year with my wife.
We both love BW musicals. We both love the restaurants in the city. Depending on what day you went you might have to see an afternoon play on Wed/Sat/Sunday so let's say you decide on the Saturday matinee I would go see Jersey Boys and have dinner at Restaurant Daniel that night. Bon Appetit. |
Thank you, all. Wasn't planning to do both on the same night - just wanted to see what some Fodorite favorites were.
