Bus schedules in NYC are never working timetables. All they tell you is how often a bus should come - as in every 5 minutes or every 10 minutes. Exactly when - is anybody's guess.

If the OP can use a hotel other than Hilton I wold reco something on the upper west side. Less frantic than midtown and easier to get around the streets - assuming daughter has walking problems - as it seems from the post.
