My husband and I are going to New York the week before Thanksgiving. There is so much information on different bars and lounges in Manhattan-can someone suggest a few favorites?

You'll get some good suggestions if you can offer more detail on what interests you most. You may want to indicate age range that you and your husband are in.... whether you're looking for music or dancing.... lively or laid back.... trendy or classic.... grungy or posh. There are so many possibilities that you'll need to narrow the focus just a bit to get recommendations.

As Owen stated, you didn't give specifics so I'm just going to suggest one of my favorites. The Cibar Lounge at The Inn At Irving Place has a sort of sexy, romantic ambience to it. Lady Mendl's After Dark (also at The Inn at Irving Place; it's a tea salon during the day) serves wonderful desserts and apertifs.

As soon as you get into town (or earlier if you can) get copies of The Village Voice and Time Out New York.
