New York hotel

I have a business meeting at 45th and Lexington. What are some nice hotels in that area? (Business is paying for room, atlhough a suite at the W might be extreme).

You DON'T want to stay at the W. The rooms are tiny! But W chain owns 2 others near there-the Tuscany & can't remeber the other right next door-they're on 39th off Lex that might be ok. Best hotel I think nearby is the Benjamin on 50th. The Library on Madison & 42nd is also nice but some rooms small. The Roosevelt is a nice old hotel and the Barclay Interconintental.

There's also the Fitzpatrick Grand on 44th between Lexington & Third.

The Roosevelt, I believe, is on 45th and Madison, a short walk to Lex.

I stayed at the W Court last week ... NEVER AGAIN! The Benjamin has it ALL OVER the W properties. Do yourself a favor and stay there!
No attitude, all luxury!

We recently stayed at the Shelburne Murray Hill at 37th and Lexington. Great location and large rooms with kitchenettes. They also have suites with separate sitting rooms.
You can check out this hotel and others in the group at www.affinia.com.

I booked at through quikbook.com and got a better price.

Have stayed in the Sofitel on 44th between 5th and 6th ave's.
Different levels of rooms but the suites are fantastic. rates are o.k. online www.sofitel.com ( better on quikbook.com )
One on the best Hotels I have seen in the US ( other than going to the level of the Peninsula or the Mark )

The Sofitel would be a little bit of a hike.

Here's another thumbs up for the Shelborne Murray Hill. Try to get a terrace room.

I just stayed at the Intercontinental and it was lovely. It's at 48th and Lex. The Fitzpatrick is also a good choice -- it's a smaller hotel, but the rooms are nice and the service is good.

Thanks for the comments. I think I'll go with the Roosevelt.
