Museum of Natural History is a big hit with all kids. My nieces loved the Nutcracker at Lincoln Center at that age. Top of the Rock for great views.

For skating - Rock Center rink (big $) or check out Brant Park or Wohlman Rin in Central Park.

I second Nutcracker at the NYS Theater @ Lincoln Center:

Wondrous for "kids" of all ages!

Don't know how I forgot that one~

Bryant Park has ice skating as well as a Christmas market--very festive atmosphere.

My 7 year old granddaughter's favorite things from her first trip this past June - Staten Island Ferry to get a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty (I know it will be colder in December, but I'd still do it), Top of the Rock for great views (better than Empire State Building), Lion King (if your daughter has not already seen the play). And she really loved walking around in general so if we were to go now I know she'd love seeing ANY Christmas decorations that are up. It was a wonderful age to take her to my favorite city!

im still pondering over all the to dos:

saturady land at 1pm.....head to our hotel at times square and then walk around with some suggestions i figured to walk on 5th avenue, rockefeller, brant park, up to central park, find some skating a long the way.

sunday we have reservations at american girl at 11am (im suprised nobody suggested this one)
sunday night well catch a show rockettes, christmas carol, nutcracker or mary poppins.

monday at noon come home. need to find a nice breakfast place

somewhere i need to squeeze in a bookstore. she enjoys hanging out at bookstores that are nostalgic not the big box kind. anybody recommend an area to hit up somewhere nice.

she also enjoys nice dinners. she doesnt know any better so she likes mulburry street.

last time we had a nice dinner at an italian restaurant at broadway and 112th. and there was a bookstore across the street that was quit nice. we enjoyed both. i wanted to try the same but in a different area of town.

sorry for the loaded message
