New York City Walking Tours

Has anyone taken a walking tour of New York recently that they'd recommend? I tried doing a search on this forum but didn't come up with much.

We will be visiting mid-summer and would like to take interesting strolls but not walks that go for miles and miles due to the heat.

Thank you!

I've been on several tours through bigonion.com, and I've been impressed with them every time.

KT: here is a link to my recent nyc trip report, we did a foodsofny tour like Margo suggests and loved it - you can read about it if you scroll down in my report you will find it, and see if that one appeals to you - we are still talkiing about it!! THe way it was paced, and stops into restaurants in between, I think it would be ok in summer too.

Thank you for these excellent suggestions -- I will check out both walking tour sites. Great trip report, Margo! I definitely want to do a food tour of the Village and will print out the restaurant suggestions. Sounds like Visa Versa will definitely be on our list with a toast to Thingorjus's mom!
