New York City Restaurants - SOHO
My husband and I will be in SOHO this weekend with friends and we are looking for restaurant recommendations in that area. Any suggestions?
|
That's funny because I just posted a thread yesterday asking about Balthazar's, a restaurant I'll be trying for the first time when I'm in NYC next month. It's in soho and is supposed to be quite good. www.balthazarny.com/

I'm planning a trip about two weeks into April in NYC, and here are some in SoHo that I'm planning to try:
Salt Bar- www.saltnyc.com Bistro Les Amis- www.bistrolesamis.com Kuma Inn- www.kumainn.com/ La Esquina- www.esquinanyc.com Spitzer's Corner- www.spitzerscorner.com Kuma Inn and Spitzer's Corner are actually bars, but the other three are restaurants and came recommended by a friend who lives in the city. All of them have websites (listed above), so check them out and see if anything catches your eye. Happy travels! |
My absolute favorite restaurant in NYC is in SoHo, Aquagrill. Fantastic seafood.
I think Balthazar is also great for breakfast/brunch. |
dining in soho is so much fun and you have a lot of great options.
some of my favourites: balthazar - of course! it has french bistro cuisine and is quite an institution. place for celebrity sighting mercer kitchen - in the mercer hotel. another hip place with great american food. more celelbrity sighting possibilities kittichai - in the 60 thompson hotel - creative thai lure fish bar - known for it's raw fish bondst. - though technically not in soho - it is in noho on broadway. truly outstanding japanese fusion |

Aqua Grill
Blue Ribbon Balthazar Mercer Kitchen Not too far away in Tribeca, is Chanterelle, one of the best restaurants in the USA. My personal favourite and where I want to eat my Last Supper :) Thin |
Another vote for The Blue Ribbon

You already have many excellent recommendations here, but yet another choice is Novecento on West Broadway. It is an outstanding Argentinian cafe that my wife loves. She is from Argentina, but that isn't necessary to really enjoy it there. The website is www.novecento.com. Have fun in a great area of NYC.

Not far from Soho, in Tribeca, is Capsouto Freres. Warm, wonderful French Bistro in a charming room. Great souffles and a prix-fixe menu. Visit their website, www.capsoutofreres.com.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. We ate at Capsouto Freres and it was wonderful. Food was excellent as well as the ambiance.

In Kyliebaby3's list of 5 only the first two are in SoHo.
I like Café Noir. |
