Our family is planning a trip to NYC. I am open to any and all tips on sightseeing, dining and information and tips on how to buy discounted broadway tickets and other attractions.

Take walks through neighborhoods such as Greenwich Village, SoHo, Chinatown, and Little Italy. Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and visit the Statue of Liberty.

You have the best info on discounted tickets (you can stand on line at the TKTS booth here - but IMHO that's a waste of vacation time - and you often can't get more than 2 sets together (you say "family").

Other than that I think you really need to be more specific - on interests or questions - or search some of the threads on NYC below. Otherwise, we could give you pages of info.

We were in NYC this June for 5 nights and we're from the West Coast. Recommendations and tips would vary depending on age of children, what you like to do, can't stand, etc. We had a great trip with our 15-year-old son...just the right vacation for all of us at the right time.

Quite true, though I was specific on my Manahattan post and all I got was a troll. So far that is. :-)
