New York Casablanca Hotel
We will be staying in NY in September and have booked into the very well reviewed (elsewhere on the net!) Casablanca Hotel. There have been some adverse comments regarding very noisy air conditioning units. Can anyone advise me as to rooms NOT to be in? Or preferred rooms? Thank you.

Not sure about the air conditioning units but I had a wonderful stay at the Casablanca during the winter. Hope someone can help you with this.

Don't know any site who does reviews of rooms.
Best would be to call the hotel and let them know about your concern. I'm sure they'll be happy to put you in a good room |
We loved ir so much, we are returning in February.

If you are very concerned yuo can call and ask - but IMHO most people who complain about hotel noises of this type are hyper sensitive and may not be happy with any big city hotels.
There is a basic amount of ambiant noise (yes, many ACs do make some noise), police and fire sirens, commercial carters - which are required to pick up trash - clashing and bashing and grinding in the overnight hours). If you are in a new hotel with mulitple glazing and on a high floor you may not hear much - but frankly we like the AC noise in our bedroom at home since it drowns out the usual stret noises. Expecting suburban silence in a center city hotel just isn't realistic. If your hearing is very sensitive I suggest both ear plugs and a white noise machine. |

I hate these OLD posts that are still active!!! Isn't 6 months long enough to keep them active if they haven't been added to? Someone responded to a post that had originally been posted 10 years ago....Ridiculous that they can be responded to.
