New York and Broadway shows
Are there broadway shows that you would recommend? Has anyone seen Xanadu?
|
Haven't seen Xanadu, but it received a great review in the Times today.
You can easily get tix to Gray Gardens, a quirky show about Jackie O's eccentric cousin and aunt, based on the documentary of the same name. |
I just wrote about Xanadu. Saw it last week in previews and loved it. Search for my name. Gray Gardens is ending in a couple of weeks if you are coming to NYC before the end of July, and you can get $60 tickets right now with very good seats. I just bought 6th Row Center for next Friday.
Otherwise, I'd strongly recommend Spring Awakening, but it's a full-price ticket now. |
Perhaps if you told us where your tastes lie and the type(s) of show you'd be interested in, then we could better serve you!

I've found Jersey Boys and Wicked to be a couple of my favorites. They can be tough tickets to find, so try stubhub.com. Hairspray is also very lively and fun. Enjoy!

Just loved the Drowsy Chaperone. Very funny and really fantastic.

If Curtains is still there, that's my vote. I have been a fan of musicals for 40 years, and Curtains is one of the best new ones I have seen in decades. My cheeks were literally sore from smiling. Very clever plot.
Second choice was Drowsy Chaparone was also excellent. Smiling through out that one also, but cheeks recovered from over-smile anxiety much faster. |
I think it is hard to see a bad broadway show. I like the ones that are 1/2 price at tkts. booth:)
