New York

We will be once again in New York in may .I have seen the Producers and other plays following your advice and buying tickets in advance.
What plays would you suggest? Are there any new musicals?
What tickets should I buy in advance?
We thank you all for the advice .

We were there in November and saw Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Wicked, and Spamalot. Would recommend all three though I thought Spamalot was the most entertaining.

Lestat will be playing then.

Spamalot - esp if you're a Python fan. but you may be late for getting tickets for May. Wicked if you havn;t seen it.

Thought DRS was just OK - not great.

I'd add Jersey Boys to the list. It's one of the few new shows and is a real crowd pleaser.

I would definitely recommend Jersey Boys or Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Both are excellent, fun, and well-done shows that provide a great night at the theatre.

You might also consider The Wedding Singer or Tarzan, both of which will be in performances by then. Since they haven't opened, we can't provide any insight into them- but you can keep them on your radar!

If you want any of the "hot ticket" shows, you definitely need to buy in advance. This includes Spamalot, Wicked, Jersey Boys, and anything brand new.

Enjoy! :)

Just heard on the radio today, that there are plenty of matinee tickets available for Spamalot.

Oh seetheworld good to know - my daughter has seen but not my son - and once she is back in the city in a week or so he is visiting her so I am going to see if I can get them matinees !! just have assumed it's still sold out forever....

Spamalot was "I-laughed-so-much-I-hurt" funny. If David Hyde Pierce and Hank Azaria are still in it, they are a treat.
